Live music

Being that Austin claims itself as the live music capital of the world and our famed SXSW Festival just passed, I feel obligated to post a LIVE music blog. Here are some of my currently favorite artsts performing live. This blog is dedicated to Alan Shaw and Le-Link.

Elsiane

This Canadian band picked up where Portishead left off. It reminds me if Sade and Bjork had a love child. Just loverly….. I want to make some serious baby batter to this music!!!!

Antony & The Johnsons

The man voice portrays a severely wounded soul which he uses to sing discretely anti-war songs among other themes. His music has been heard in car commercials, sitcoms, and runway shows (Gucci, Fendi, Versace and Channel), as well as a favored base for remixes and experimental Youtube videos. His story is a n interesting one. He look has not all was been so androgynous. He found and preformed in many off-off-off Broadway extreme theatre company productions.

- You Are My Sister (a gay theme song)

Iron and Wine

With a coffee shop flair this band has been at the fore- front of the emo movement before emo was the scene to be seen in. A texturally complex dream vocals combined with guitar makes this band Canadian international stars for the pothead/hippie cross over genre.

- Flightless Bird
